Overview of the Scenic Area

Wuzhen Xigai is a 5A-level national scenic area, renowned for its water-town characteristics of "small bridges, flowing water and houses". It is hailed as "the last people living by the water in China". The scenic area is adjacent to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and integrates sightseeing and leisure vacation functions. It retains Ming and Qing architecture, handicraft workshops and folk customs. The core attractions include Mao Dun Memorial Hall, Xingjing Hall, and Shengmu Color Dyeing Workshop, etc. The night scenery of Xigai is dazzling, making it a paradise for photography enthusiasts. Taking a boat ride along the waterways allows one to experience the charm of the thousand-year-old Jiangnan. Located in the core area of the Jiangnan water town, it has a subtropical monsoon climate. With an area of 4.92 square kilometers, the canal and ancient buildings form a unique landscape.
