Guangxiao Temple, with a history spanning over 1,700 years, is one of the oldest and most influential Buddhist temples in Guangzhou. It is considered the birthplace of Zen Buddhism in China, as the Sixth Patriarch of Zen, Huineng, received his tonsure here. How to Get There
Guangxiao Temple is located in Yuexiu District. Take Metro Line 1 to Ximenkou Station (西门口站), Exit C. The temple is a short walk from the station.
