


Guanling Fossil National Geopark
Guanling Fossil National Geopark, located in the southwestern part of Guizhou Province, China, specifically in Xinpu Town, Guanling Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, is renowned for its rich collection of marine fossils from the Late Triassic period, approximately 220 million years ago. The park covers a planned area of 86 square kilometers, with a core protected area of 0.94 square kilometers. Visitors can explore well-preserved fossils of ancient marine reptiles, such as ichthyosaurs, as well as a variety of invertebrates like ammonites and crinoids. The park features a museum and several on-site fossil preservation areas, offering insights into the region's geological history and the evolution of marine life.
